“What Comes Next” for Virtualization on May 7 at 2 p.m.
in Anaheim
Newbury Park, Calif.
– May 5, 2003 – iQstor Networks, Inc., developer of
integrated Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced
that Jonathan Kong will be discussing current realities and future
paths of virtualization for small to mid-sized businesses in a panel
session at the Storage World Conference on May 7, 2003.
The panel, part of the
two-day conference that brings together IT professionals, resellers,
and leading vendors in the storage industry, will explore the next
phase of virtualization and the benefits it can bring to a wide
range of storage technologies. Moderated by industry veteran Marc
Staimer, the interactive session will feature executives from leading
storage networking companies that includes DataCore, FalconStor,
INRANGE, StoreAge, and SANRAD, in addition to iQstor’s Jonathan
Kong.
“Virtualization
has become an overused term and has led to widespread confusion,”
Staimer said, “and this panel will explore what comes after
virtualization as a solution for managing storage networks. Although
normally discussed in the context of SANs, storage virtualization
has a much broader appeal in the total storage infrastructure –
applying to DAS and NAS topologies as well -- and we intend to explore
the current and future advancements that can take virtualization
to the next level.”
“This panel promises
to be a highly interactive session, and I’m looking forward
to previewing our storage virtualization strategy as well as discussing
storage network management with the panelists and storage administrators
attending SWC,” said Jonathan Kong, vice president and CTO
of iQstor Networks. “Storage administrators are looking for
a single platform that integrates all data services and storage
management functions, and the ability to create intelligent solutions
with these new, single platform solutions will simplify complex
and repetitive tasks and increase productivity.”
iQstor has embedded storage management and data services into the
storage processors, allowing their SAN solutions to reduce the workload
of storage administrators at small and mid-size enterprises and optimize their
storage resources, increasing productivity and reducing operating
costs. iQstor is committed to making enterprise level data services
features -- storage virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote
replication, and policy-based storage provisioning -- affordable
for the small and mid-size market, enabling storage administrators to benefit
from greater ease of integration and improved cost-efficiencies
as they manage their storage growth requirements.
The virtualization
panel is scheduled for May 7 at 2 p.m. in the Marina Ballroom at
the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif. iQstor executives will also
be available to answer any additional questions and showcase new
Fibre Channel storage technology for small to mid-sized businesses
(SMBs) in Booth 218 at the event.
