iQstor Debuts iQ2280 – Industry’s First All-in-One 4Gb FC-SATA II
Storage Platform With Enterprise-Level Data Services

Newbury Park, CA — January 17, 2006 - iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced today the introduction of the iQ2280 4Gb Fibre Channel (FC) to Serial ATA II (SATA II) storage platform with integrated enterprise-level data services.

The iQ228O storage platform from iQstor Networks delivers a robust and economical FC to SATA II solution with the availability, manageability, data integrity and enterprise-level functionality that, until recently, have only been available to enterprise users, notes Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor. “The iQ2280 is well suited to applications that require storage with varying performance and availability, but where cost is a strong consideration. With the iQ2280, storage administrators can quickly and cost- effectively optimize storage solutions for diverse applications in media and entertainment, broadcasting to near-line and archiving applications for financial, legal and educational institutions.”
The iQ2280 Storage System, housed in a 19” 3U rack mountable enclosure, features 4 x 4Gb/s host ports (1.6 GB/s) and supports up to 15 SATA II disk drives that provide 7.5TB of storage capacity using 500 GB drives and touts a 3 Gb/s disk data transfer rates. The storage platform also supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ).

With all key internal components being hot-swappable and redundant, the iQ2280 ensures data protection and delivery to keep business-critical applications running smoothly. The storage platform features dual active-active storage controllers with transparent fail-over, 4 host ports, and RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 3, 5, 50 and 6. Further, as storage management requirements evolve, users have the option of enabling the iQ2280’s enhanced data services via an embedded wizard-based configuration & management GUI that gives instant access to the optional embedded data services including storage virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and automated capacity growth.
